As Bangladesh prepares to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Azha on Saturday, large Eid congregations have been scheduled in Dhaka and other divisional cities.
As in previous years, the main national congregation will be held at the National Eidgah, adjacent to the High Court, at 7:30 am.
This gathering will be attended by Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus, members of the Advisory Council, Supreme Court justices, political leaders, and representatives from diverse walks of life.
The prayer will be led by Mufti Mohammad Abdul Malek, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The National Eidgah ground has been prepared to accommodate around 35,000 worshippers, with Dhaka South City Corporation overseeing the overall arrangements. Law enforcement agencies have taken stringent security measures to ensure the safety of worshippers.
In a public announcement, Shahjahan Mia, Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation, requested that attendees not bring any items that could pose a security risk. He also mentioned that carrying prayer mats or water bottles is unnecessary.
The Meteorological Department has forecast temporary lightning or light to moderate rainfall in some parts of Chittagong, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions on Eid day, which may affect some outdoor congregations.
