The Chief Advisor’s press secretary, Shafiqul Alam, stated that the election could take place anytime before June 30 but will not be postponed beyond that date.
In response to a question about the national election, he mentioned that the election might be held as early as December or as late as June, but under no circumstances will it be delayed past June 30.
Speaking at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy, Shafiqul Alam also addressed the Chief Advisor’s upcoming visit to Japan and other current issues.
Additionally, the Deputy Press Secretary, Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Mozumder, announced that the Chief Advisor, Professor Muhammad Yunus, will inaugurate a meeting with the National Consensus Commission and political parties tomorrow at 4 PM.
All political parties involved in the reform process have been invited to this meeting, which aims to begin the second phase of reform discussions. It is hoped that these talks will conclude soon, allowing a clear announcement on the July charter currently under preparation.
