In Sylhet`s Chameli Bagh, a landslide caused by heavy rain led to the tragic recovery of a family of three, six hours after the incident.
On Monday, June 10, around 12:30 PM, firefighters, assisted by the army, recovered the bodies of Aga Abdul Karim, his wife Ruzi Begum, and their six-month-old baby, Tanim. The information was confirmed by Shahporan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Harunur Rashid Chowdhury. He stated that the bodies have been sent to MAG Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
The landslide occurred around 6:00 AM. Aga Abdul Karim and his brother Aga Abdur Rahim lived with their families in separate houses at the foot of the hill. The landslide trapped six members of the two families under the debris. Local residents managed to rescue Abdur Rahim`s family in the morning, but Abdul Karim and his family remained buried.
