A fire broke out at the Aminbazar power grid in Savar early Tuesday morning, causing damage to a transformer.

Firefighters from multiple stations worked for nearly two hours to bring the situation under control.

Md. Saleh Uddin, Deputy Director of the Dhaka Division Fire Service, confirmed that the fire was successfully contained by 9:15 AM.

The fire had started around 7:15 AM in one of the grid’s transformers, prompting a swift response from the fire department.

“Nine units from five nearby fire stations responded to the incident and managed to control the fire after two hours of effort,” said Md. Saleh Uddin.

He added that, while one transformer was damaged, all the other transformers at the site remained unaffected by the fire.

As of now, the exact cause of the fire and the total amount of damage are still unknown, according to fire service officials.

Savar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Bakker Siddique, who was present at the scene, mentioned that a five-member committee has already been formed to investigate the incident.

"The committee will look into what caused the fire and determine the extent of the damages," he said.

The fire caused some disruption in the area, but no injuries were reported.

Local authorities are monitoring the situation, and the investigation is expected to provide more insights in the coming days.
