The Government of Bangladesh will refund a total of Tk 8.28 crore to 4,978 Hajj pilgrims who performed Hajj this year under the state management system, Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain announced on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Secretariat, where the government’s achievements in this year’s Hajj operations were discussed, the adviser said the surplus amount from the Hajj budget will be returned to the pilgrims.
According to Dr. Hossain, depending on the Hajj package, each pilgrim will receive a refund ranging from a minimum of Tk 5,315 to a maximum of Tk 53,624.
He noted that the surplus was generated due to efficient financial management during this year’s Hajj operation.
