A Jubo League activist has been stabbed to death over previous enmity by some miscreants at Boottol in Chattogram's Sitakunda upazila on Sunday evening, police and local ward councillor said.
The deceased is Mohammad Yusuf, 35, son of Madin Ullah of the Nunachhara area of the Sitakunda municipality, said Tofayel Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Sitakunda police station.
Locals said the incident took place around 6pm when the miscreants swooped on Yusuf when he along with his friends were taking evening snacks in an eatery.
They stabbed him indiscriminately in the stomach and the neck, leaving him severely injured.
He was rushed to the Upazila Health Complex where the doctors declared him dead.
"Additional police force has been deployed in the area to avert further trouble," added the OC.
The exact reason behind the murder could not immediately be confirmed, said the officer.
Yusuf was also a supplier of sand, bricks and cement in the area.
