A mild earthquake was felt in Sylhet on Tuesday at around 5:32 pm. The quake measured 4.0 on the Richter scale.
No immediate reports of damage or casualties were received.
The information was confirmed in a bulletin issued by the Meteorological Department. According to the notice, signed by Assistant Meteorologist Farzana Sultana, the earthquake occurred at 5:32:32 pm. Its epicenter was in the Gowainghat area of Sylhet, located 214 kilometers from the Dhaka Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center.
