The election to Naogaon-2 (Patnitala-Dhamoirhat) has been suspended by the Election Commission as an independent candidate died.
The candidate, identified as Md Aminul Haque, died at the age of 75.
Additional Secretary of Election Commission Secretariat Ashok Kumar Debnath said Aminul Haque died due to cardiac arrest at United Hospital in Dhaka in the early morning today, hours after getting election symbol to contest in the 12th parliamentary election.
Aminul was supposed to contest in Naogaon-2 constituency as an independent candidate with the symbol eagle in the upcoming national election.
