The National Board of Revenue (NBR) on Sunday launched a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) as part of its efforts to strengthen cyber security and protect critical digital infrastructure particularly the ASYCUDA system and other sensitive information assets.
The SOC has been established in line with the cyber security policies and compliance guidelines issued by the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA).
NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan inaugurated the newly established in-house Security Operations Centre.
According to NBR officials, the SOC is being operated by a specialised team of the organisation using advanced technologies and following internationally recognised standards and best practices in cyber security management.
Through the SOC, Bangladesh Customs’ cyber space will be monitored round the clock (24x7) to detect, analyse and respond to potential internal and external cyber attacks, risks, suspicious activities and other emerging cyber threats.
The centre is designed to ensure early detection and rapid preventive action to minimise possible disruptions to revenue operations and data integrity.
The launch of the SOC is also expected to enhance compliance with national cyber security frameworks and reinforce public trust in the safety and reliability of NBR’s digital services.
