Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) is set to start conducting the population and housing census from June 15.
Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics made the announcement of conducting the country's sixth population and housing census on Wednesday while Planning Minister MA Mannan attends a press briefing at the National Economic Council of the planning ministry.
The sixth survey of the BBS will be conducted in digital format. Around 370,000 numerators will collect the data countrywide by using 395,000 tablet computers in seven days.
The authorities will collect data through Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing system by using the Geographic Information System across the country.
President Abdul Hamid is expected to unveil the memorial stamp while Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will give a speech in this regard.
The first census was held in 1974.
