The interim government has formed an investigation committee to probe the recent violence in Gopalganj, which occurred on Wednesday, July 16. The announcement was made on Thursday (July 17) by Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser.
The committee will be headed by Nasimul Ghani, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Two other additional secretaries will serve as members: one from the Ministry of Public Administration and another from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
The committee has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation and submit its report to the Office of the Chief Adviser within two weeks.
The interim government reaffirmed its commitment to upholding justice, maintaining public order, and ensuring that those responsible for any unlawful acts, violence, or deaths are held accountable under the law.
