BNP Senior Joint Secretary General, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, has made a serious allegation that a state intelligence agency is trying to establish a new political party.
He raised concerns about the value of political sacrifices if intelligence agencies are the ones deciding election outcomes. Rizvi shared these views on Thursday (December 26) during a discussion at the Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU).
Rizvi questioned, “How can a democratic country like India offer refuge to Sheikh Hasina? India is deliberately spreading false narratives about Bangladesh. Through Sheikh Hasina, India has tried to impose its policies here. After Sheikh Hasina fled, the new state was recognized by everyone except India.”
He went on to say, “The sacrifices made by BNP and other political parties against Sheikh Hasina’s harsh laws cannot be ignored. Now, people are beginning to wonder if there is a secret effort from within the government to break up BNP.”
Additionally, the BNP leader remarked, “There is no difference between the laws introduced by the Awami League and the Cyber Security Act. From what I’ve seen of the Cyber Security Ordinance, nothing good will come from it. After the government requested important documents, the recent fire at the Secretariat has raised many questions among the public.”
This raises important concerns about the role of intelligence agencies and transparency in the political process, with public suspicions growing over the government`s intentions.
