The fire that broke out at `Mayur 7` launch at Sadarghat terminal has come under control after an hour`s effort by 13 units of the fire service.
The fire was completely brought under control at 12:10 pm today.
Fire Service Headquarters Media Cell Officer Anwarul Islam Dolon said that they got the news of fire at 11:00 am in the Mayur-7 launch at Sadarghat. At 11:55, the first unit of the fire service arrived at the scene. Later 12 more units joined. The fire was completely brought under control at 12:05 PM.
The launch operates on Dhaka-Chandpur-Dhaka route. The launch had no passengers. He said that the launch was standing on pontoon number 22 of Lalkuthi Ghat. Initially, the cause of the fire and no casualties were reported. However, it is known that the fire started from the second floor.
