One of the main Liberation War organizers, Serajul Alam Khan, 82, passed away on Friday afternoon at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Brig Gen Nazmul Haque, director of the DMCH, confirmed the matter to TheReport.Live and said, Serajul passed away in the hospital‍‍`s intensive care unit about 2:30 p.m. He was given life support at the hospital on Thursday around 9:20 p.m.

The "mystery man" of Bangladeshi politics, Serajul, a hailer of Noakhali district, passed his life as a single man. He once lived in America for a considerable amount of time, shared a home with his brothers in the Kalabagan area of Dhaka.

Widely known as "Dada" and "Dadabhai", Serajul was born on January 6, 1941.

He was a founding member of Swadhin Bangla Biplobi Parishad alias Nucleus. He founded and led Mujib Bahini (aka BLF) with Tofael Ahmed, Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, and Abdur Razzaq.
