Six people of two families were killed in separate landslides triggered by relentless rain in Cox‍‍`s Bazar Sadar upazila and at a Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila early Friday.

A woman and her two daughters died due to a landslide in the Jhilongja area of Cox‍‍`s Bazar Sadar upazila early Friday.

This incident happened around 2 am in the South Dikakul area of Jhilongja Union in the upazila.

Additional District Magistrate Atul Goni Osman confirmed the matter.

The deceased were identified as Akhi Moni, wife of Mizanur Rahman from South Dikakul, and their two daughters, Miha Jannat Naima and Latifa Islam.

According to Akhi Moni‍‍`s mother-in-law, they heard a loud sound of a landslide from Mizan’s house around 2am during heavy rain.
