5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Bangladesh

A strong earthquake shook Dhaka and several other parts of Bangladesh at 10:38am. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the quake measured 5.7 on the Richter scale and had its epicenter in Madhabdi, Narsingdi. The tremor lasted for several seconds.

Tremors were felt in Chandpur, Nilphamari, Sitakunda, Sirajganj, Narayanganj, Patuakhali, Bogura, Barishal, and Moulvibazar, among other districts.

In Dhaka, many residents rushed out of their homes in panic as buildings swayed.
The quake was also felt in parts of India.
