A train coming from Kamalapur Railway Station has collided with a bus in the capital's Malibagh area. However, there was no immediate report of casualties.
The accident took place around 9:10pm on Thursday, said railway police sources citing witnesses.
Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan, assistant director (operations), Bangladesh Railway's central command, said rail communication on the route was suspended after the accident.
The train was bound to Panchagarh while the bus belonged to the Shohagh Paribahan transport company.
