Two Bangladeshis found shot dead along Sylhet border

The bullet-riddled bodies of two Bangladeshis have been found on the border of Sylhet‍‍`s Companiganj Upazila.

Indian Khasia community is primarily suspected of shooting them to death. 

Inspector (Investigation) Moniruzzaman Khan of Companiganj Police Station said that the incident took place in Kalairag border area of ​​Upazila North Ranikhai Union Parishad on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased are Ali Hossain (30) son of late Fajr Ali of Kalairag in the upazila and Kawsar Ahmad (25) son of late Sundar Ali of the same area.

Chairman of North Ranikhai UP Faizur Rahman told reporters, "Two people named Hussain and Kawsar died in the firing of Indian Khasias. A few others were reported injured.”

Quoting the families of the victims, he said that they used to go to the other side to fetch wood and jackfruit. "Even today, some went together. Two were killed. Two bodies lie at the scene. BGB went there after getting the news," he added.

However, there was no immediate reaction from the Border Guard Bangladesh over the deaths.

Killings of Bangladeshis by the Khasia people along the Indian border with Sylhet are often reported.
