RAB nabs two drug peddlers in Rajshahi with 1.49 kg heroin

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in two separate anti-crime drives arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 1.49 kilograms of heroin from their possessions in Rajshahi district on Wednesday night, reports BSS. 

The RAB officials said on Thursday morning, the arrested persons have been identified as Jamal Uddin, 36, son of Abdul Mazid of Miapur village in Charghat upazila, and Shanta Hossain, 20, son of Abdul Aziz of Zeopara village in Puthia upazila.

Acting on the basis of a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at Muktarpur village of Charghat upazila and arrested Jamal Uddin with 885 grams of heroin red-handed around 10:15 pm.

During another raid at Halidagachhi village under the same upazila, another team of the elite force arrested Shanta Hossain with 600 grams of
heroin around 7:45 pm.

Later, the arrested persons along with the seized heroin were handed over to the police. Two separate cases were registered with the respective police stations in these connections.
