The government plans to develop a new commodities price control service. Complaint can be filed now on 333 only if the price is higher than the government-set price. If there is a complaint, the government will take action.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak announced this decision in a consultative meeting regarding `Ensuring more transparency in market rates and bringing innovative changes through digitization` in the Secretariat on Monday.
Representatives of TCB, National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection, Shop Owners Association, Supershop Owners Association, various corporate groups of consumer goods were present in the meeting.
Junayed Ahmed said in the meeting that the Prime Minister has given instructions to keep the price of goods affordable on the occasion of Ramadan. For this, the correct information of the market should be known through technology. It can be known through mobile app, zoning system. Accurate information on production, storage, marketing, marketing and import will be available through a separate new website.
He said, on calling (333), anyone can inform about the higher price in the market as a new service. Any citizen can give a phone call. It will be easy to take action if the market charges more than the government fixed price. Knowing the price difference, the government can take action.
