Ahsanul Alam has been chosen to lead Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited`s board of directors.
According to a press release, he was unanimously chosen to serve as chairman of the bank`s board of directors at its 324th meeting on June 19.
He previously presided over the board of directors of Union Bank Limited. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Bradford and his MBA from Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom.
In addition to serving as managing director of Artsy Holdings Limited, Shining Assets Limited, Affinity Assets Limited, Wesco Limited, Marina Assets Limited, and Kraft Holding Company Limited, he serves as chairman of Hasan Abasan (Pvt) Limited. He serves as Director of SS Power-I Limited, the biggest coal-fired power plant in the country.
Ahsanul Alam, a young industrial entrepreneur, is well-known for his innovative leadership in the textile, apparel, and trading industries. He has received two consecutive awards from the National Board of Revenue for being the highest taxpayer.
He is from a well-known and revered Muslim family in Chattogram, the handout added.
