Voting in Bangladesh’s national election ended on Thursday in a largely calm environment.
Polling began at 7:30 am and continued until 4:30 pm without interruption.
According to election authorities, voting took place at 42,659 polling stations across 299 constituencies.
Nearly one million members of the security forces were deployed, along with about one million polling officials, to ensure a smooth voting process.
The election has raised expectations of a return to meaningful democratic governance and a strong public mandate for future reforms.
