A Book festival has been organised today at Sir AF Rahman Hall of Dhaka University to make a connection between the book providers and the readers.
The initiative was taken jointly by AF Rahman Hall unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League and the AF Rahman Literature Sangsad.
Throughout the program, the organizers urged the student-teachers to provide books, old or new, with the provider’s information. This information will build a connection between the provider and the upcoming reader over the years, hoped the organizers.
The programme title “Cup of tea, Book and Generation of Love” was appreciated by people from all walks of life, and they wished the success of the unique initiative.
Students, teachers, and the political figures of the campus are spontaneously providing books.
Sanjit Chandra Das, president of Dhaka University Chhatra League, said, “We should emphasize on cultural activities same as political activities as the only political program is not enough for psychological excellence.”
“World greatest leaders are highly associated with the writing and reading as well as cultural activities,” he added.
Saddam Hussain, general secretary of the Dhaka University Chhatra League, said, “The aestheticism they brought to the festival was a testament to their commitment to responsibility. We have observed that the leaders and activists of the different hall units are conducting their own political activities through creative work.”
Mentioning the program as a unique one, Dr. KM Saiful Islam Khan, Provost of the hall said, “if organizers can collect 3 thousand books by the program, the hall will manage a rooftop library.
However, President of AF Rahman Hall Riazul Islam presided over the program while General Secretary Munem Shahriar Moon conducted this.
