Dhaka University has suspended three students for six months over their alleged involvement in the harassment of two women at the campus’ Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) area.
The information was confirmed in a press release issued by the university’s Public Relations Office on Tuesday evening.
According to the statement, the disciplinary action was taken based on the recommendations of an investigation committee that examined the incident.
The suspended students are Shahriar Islam Tushar of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies, Rakib Ahmed of the Department of World Religions and Culture, and Shahriar Tanzil of the Department of Anthropology.
The suspension order was issued by Dhaka University Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed under the authority granted by the Dhaka University Order.
