DUCSU election scheduled for September 9

The long-anticipated Dhaka University Central Students‍‍` Union (DUCSU) election will be held on September 9, as announced on Tuesday.

The date was confirmed by Chief Returning Officer Professor Mohammad Jasim Uddin at a press briefing held at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building on the university campus.

According to the election schedule:

The draft voter list will be published on Wednesday (July 30).

The deadline to file objections regarding the voter list is August 8, with the final list set for release on August 11.

Nomination forms will be distributed from August 12 to 18, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM daily.

The deadline for submission of nomination papers is August 19 at 3:00 PM.

Scrutiny of nominations will be conducted on August 20, followed by the release of the initial list of candidates on August 21 at noon.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations is August 24 at 12:00 PM, and the final list of candidates will be published on August 25 at 4:00 PM.

On election day, voting will take place from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and results will be announced on the same day.

In addition to the central DUCSU election, hall union elections will also be conducted simultaneously.

The last DUCSU election was held in 2019, marking the first such vote in 28 years.
