This year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results are likely to be published on October 16, according to sources from the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. The committee is set to send a proposal to the Ministry of Education for approval, after which the date will be finalized.

The decision was reportedly made at a joint meeting of the chairmen of all 11 education boards held on Thursday afternoon.

An official from the Dhaka Education Board mentioned that, as per regulations, the results must be published by October 18. However, since October 17 and 18 fall on the weekend, the boards are considering releasing the results two days earlier.

He further added that the preparation of results is nearly complete. Several potential dates will be proposed in the meeting, and the Ministry of Education will finalize one of them.

This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations began on June 26 and concluded on August 19, though a few subjects were delayed. By rule, the results are to be announced within 60 days after the completion of written exams.

A total of 1,251,111 students from 11 education boards registered for the examinations, including 618,015 male and 633,096 female candidates. The exams were held at 2,797 centers across the country.

However, around 27,000 students did not sit for the exams. As a result, nearly 1.22 million candidates are now awaiting their results.
