No grace marks given in SSC 2025, says Dhaka education board chairman

The Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, Professor Dr. Khandoker Ehsanul Kabir, confirmed that no grace marks were awarded to students in this year’s SSC and equivalent examinations.

Speaking at a post-result briefing on Thursday, July 10, following the publication of results, Dr. Kabir stated, “There were absolutely no additional or grace marks given this year. The evaluation was focused entirely on reflecting students’ actual merit.”

He emphasized that examiners were specifically instructed to assess answer scripts objectively, and the published results are a direct outcome of that process.

“This is the real and authentic result. There should be no room for suspicion or dissatisfaction,” he added.

Addressing concerns about past practices, Dr. Kabir remarked, “We will not comment on how results were prepared in previous years. What matters is that this year’s results are based strictly on proper script evaluation.”

He further clarified that no special instructions were given to leniently award marks or improve grades based on borderline scores.

“The grades reflect the exact marks students earned in their scripts. No student was awarded extra points to achieve a higher grade,” he said.

Dr. Kabir also mentioned that there was no external pressure in preparing the results. “We were instructed from higher authorities to publish the results as they are, and we relayed the same instruction to examiners,” he concluded.
