All Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under all education boards scheduled for Thursday have been postponed. The new date for these exams will be announced later, according to a notification released by the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
The notification, signed by Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarker, president of the committee, stated that examinations scheduled for July 21 will be held as per the routine.
Earlier, the government announced that all secondary, higher secondary, and polytechnic institutions will remain closed until further notice.
The decisions come as six people, including at least two students, were killed clashes centering on the ongoing quota reform movement on Tuesday afternoon.
This year`s HSC began across the country on June 30.
There were a total of 14, 50,790 examinees from 9,463 educational institutions under 11 education boards - nine general education boards, one madrasah and one technical education boar.
Of the total candidates, 7, 50,281 are male while 7, 00,509 female.
