The Dhaka University committee investigating the murder of student Shahriar Alam Shammo has submitted its report to Vice Chancellor Dr Niaz Ahmed Khan.
The report was handed over by committee convener Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, with university officials present.
Shammo, a student of the Institute of Education and Research and an active student political organizer, was fatally stabbed at Suhrawardy Udyan on May 13.
He died later at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. A murder case was filed by his brother the next day.
Following the incident, widespread outrage erupted across campus. Students staged protests demanding justice, accountability, and increased campus safety.
Amid rising tensions, the university formed a seven-member investigation committee, later expanded to include Barrister Nurul Azim.
The university has stated that further actions will be taken based on the findings of the report.
Meanwhile, police have arrested and remanded six suspects as part of the ongoing investigation.
