30 including rescue official, local journalist killed in Gaza

The strikes targeted Khan Younis in the south, Jabalia in the north, and Nuseirat in central Gaza.

At least 30 Palestinians were killed on Sunday in multiple Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, according to local health officials.

The strikes targeted Khan Younis in the south, Jabalia in the north, and Nuseirat in central Gaza.

Among the dead were Hassan Majdi Abu Warda, a local journalist killed along with family members in Jabalia, and Ashraf Abu Nar, a senior civil emergency official, who died with his wife in Nuseirat.

The Gaza government’s media office stated that Abu Warda’s death brings the number of journalists killed in the conflict to 220 since October 2023.

Israel’s military said Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir visited troops in Khan Younis on Sunday, telling them the war was not endless and that Hamas had lost most of its command capabilities.

He reaffirmed Israel’s commitment to rescuing hostages and dismantling Hamas.

Meanwhile, the International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed that two of its staff members were killed in a strike in Khan Younis on Saturday.

The organization called for a ceasefire and reiterated the need to protect civilians and humanitarian workers.

The Gaza media office claimed that Israel now controls 77% of the territory through military presence and forced evacuations.

In response, the armed wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad reported multiple attacks on Israeli forces.

The war began after Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack, which killed 1,200 people and led to 251 hostages.

Gaza’s health authorities say over 53,900 Palestinians have died, with severe malnutrition now widespread.
