Six people, including three children, were killed after a young woman openly fired at an elementary school in the US state of Tennessee. Later, the young woman named Audrey Hale (28) also lost her life in police firing.
This woman attacked at The Covenant School in Nashville around 10:30 am (local time) on Monday.
Authorities said the school is a Private Christian school. which is a pre-school up to sixth grade. The school had about 200 students.
The victims were named as Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, and Mike Hill, 61.
The shooter entered the school and started firing indiscriminately. The police received the news of the shooting at 10:13 am on Monday. The woman was shot dead by the police at 10:27 am. The gunfight lasted for 14 minutes.
President Joe Biden termed the incident "a family`s worst nightmare." "We must do more to stop gun violence," he said.
