Milestone students issue six-point demand

This morning at Milestone School and College was unlike any other—marked by silence, sorrow, and the absence of the usual sounds of children.

The familiar rhythm of classroom life has been replaced by grief, as the devastated Haider Ali Building now stands in ruins.

The building, which previously housed students from grades 3 to 8, was struck by a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft, reducing large parts of it to rubble.

Law enforcement personnel have cordoned off the area, while Air Force members continue search and rescue operations and debris removal.

Outside the school, a crowd of mourners, including families of the deceased, students, and concerned citizens, continues to gather. In response to the tragedy, Milestone students have announced a protest program for 9 a.m. on Tuesday and issued a six-point demand for justice and accountability.

Their demands are as follows:

  1. The full and accurate list of the deceased must be publicly released.
  2. A complete and verified list of the injured must also be made available.
  3. The Bangladesh Air Force must issue a public and unconditional apology for the reported assault on teachers by its members.
  4. The families of all deceased students must receive compensation from the Air Force.
  5. All outdated and risky aircraft in use by the Air Force must be decommissioned and replaced with modern, safer alternatives.
  6. The current training system and training zones of the Air Force must be revised and replaced with more humane and secure procedures.

The students are demanding swift action, transparency, and accountability in the aftermath of the incident that has shaken the entire nation.
