A deadly fire broke out in a building in Gulzar Houz near Charminar, Hyderabad, killing at least 17 people.
The building housed both residential and commercial units, and this incident is being regarded as one of the city’s most tragic in recent years.
According to initial reports from the fire department, the blaze started around 5:30 am when most residents were still asleep.
The fire originated on the ground floor, which contained commercial establishments, and thick smoke quickly spread throughout the structure, leading to fatal suffocation for many of the occupants.
Ten injured individuals were taken to DRDO Hospital, Osmania General Hospital, and a private hospital for treatment.
