The number of fatalities from a fuel tanker explosion in southwest Pakistan has risen to 19, officials confirmed on Monday, nearly a week after the deadly incident.
The blast occurred on April 28 in the Nushki district of Balochistan province after a tanker caught fire near a local market.
A crowd had gathered in an attempt to extinguish the blaze when the vehicle suddenly exploded.
More than 40 people were injured, with many of them transferred to hospitals in Karachi for advanced treatment.
Local police official Muhammad Hasan Mengal told AFP that authorities are investigating potential negligence linked to the explosion.
