Iran’s paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has attacked a third vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian media, signalling a further escalation in maritime tensions.

Semi-official outlets reported that the Guard targeted a ship identified as Euphoria, which was later said to be stranded near the Iranian coast. Details on damage or casualties were not immediately available.

State television also said two other vessels seized earlier—MSC Francesca and Epaminodes—are now under IRGC custody and being taken to Iran.

In a statement, the Guard accused the ships of violating maritime rules, operating without authorization and attempting to leave the area covertly, actions it said threatened navigation security.

The incidents come amid heightened tensions following recent US actions at sea and ongoing diplomatic efforts to sustain a fragile ceasefire.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical shipping routes, carrying a significant share of global oil supplies.
