At least eight people have lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza, with one of the victims being a child.

Many others have been injured in the attack, which comes amid ongoing discussions for a ceasefire.

This report was confirmed by Qatar-based news outlet, Al Jazeera.

The attack took place while U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Israeli representatives are in Doha, Qatar, engaging in crucial talks regarding a ceasefire in Gaza.

Despite these discussions, Israeli airstrikes have continued, resulting in further casualties.

The ceasefire, which was initially implemented on January 19, is part of a three-phase agreement, covering issues such as prisoner exchanges, a permanent peace agreement, a lasting ceasefire, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Negotiations in Doha are now focusing on creating a fresh ceasefire agreement, aimed at securing long-term peace in the region.

However, as part of the escalating tensions, Israel has recently cut off electricity supplies to Gaza.

This move has caused significant hardships, particularly during Ramadan, as residents struggle with daily activities such as cooking.

Several countries and human rights organizations, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan, have condemned Israel’s actions.

The situation in Gaza has been devastating since the start of Israel‍‍`s military operations on October 7, 2023.

The toll on the region has been staggering: over 48,000 lives have been lost, and more than 112,000 people have been injured.

In addition, more than 2 million residents have been displaced from their homes, further worsening the humanitarian crisis.
