Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has received bail. The Surat Sessions Court granted him bail in a defamation case for making objectionable comments about Narendra Modi`s surname. His sentence has been suspended for now. A NDTV report said this.
Rahul Gandhi was sentenced for two years by the Surat Magistrate Court in this case. When he applied for bail, he was granted interim bail for 30 days. After this court verdict, no legal action can be taken against Rahul until the next hearing. The next hearing is on April 13.
The court ordered BJP MLA Purnesh, the plaintiff in the case against Rahul, to give his statement by April 10.
