While the police were occupied with administrative tasks, the two accused inmates purportedly offered her a cold drink, resulting in her loss of consciousness. It was during this vulnerable state that the alleged rape took place.
The victim, serving a 10-year sentence in a drug-related case, has been battling depression and has made attempts at self-harm while in custody. Presently undergoing treatment at PGIMS Hospital, her complaint has prompted an investigation into the incident.
