Trump administration has decided to cut off aid to all countries, with the exception of Israel and Egypt.

This decision also includes Ukraine, according to a report by AFP. Starting Friday, the United States has stopped providing assistance to all nations except these two.

The report further clarifies that the U.S. will continue its military assistance and frozen emergency food aid for Israel and Egypt, meaning these countries won’t be affected by the suspension.

In a memo, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated,

"No new funds will be released until existing or new aid programs are reviewed and approved."

This review is expected to take about 85 days. The decision is part of President Donald Trump’s “America First” policy, which emphasizes prioritizing U.S. interests.

This halt in aid will impact a wide range of support, from development assistance to military aid.

The suspension comes after former U.S. President Joe Biden had sent billions of dollars in weapons to Ukraine to help fight Russia.

According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the U.S. provided $64 billion in foreign aid in 2023.

However, the exact amount of aid given last year remains unclear.
