Chattogram road accident: 7 die, 3 injured

At least seven people, including three children, were killed and three others injured as a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and an ambulance near Charia Istema Maidan in Hathazari upazila of the district today.

The deceased were identified as Biplab Das, 27, Chinubala Das, 55, Rita Rani Das, 40, Srabanti, 18, Barsha, 10, Sudipto, 03 and Diganto, 03, all hailed from Dulal Master‍‍`s Bari in Mohammadpur village under Chandanish upazila of the district.

Confirming the matter, Kofil Uddin, officer of Fire Control Office, told BSS that on information, a team of Hathazari Fire Station rushed to the spot and recovered bodies of seven passengers of the CNG auto-rickshaw and ambulance, who died on the spot.
"The bodies were sent to the morgue while the injured persons are undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital", he added.

Police detained the vehicles. A case was filed with Hathazari thana in this connection.
