Six people were killed in a collision between a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Shibpur upazila of the district today.
Of the dead, Shahin, 35, driver of the auto-rickshaw hailed from Satpara village, Abu Bakor Siddique, 40, an inhabitant of Boilab village in Shibpur upazila, Marufa Akhter, 23, hailed from Monohardi upazila and Mostofa Mia, 48, of Raipura upazila of the district.
Identities of two could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibpur Model Thana Afzal Hossain said the accident occurred around 1 pm at Pacharbarai on Etakhola-Mothkhola road.
Being informed, police and firefighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. All the dead boarded on the auto-rickshaw. They died on the spot, he added.
The bodies were sent to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he said.
