According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq on Sunday, the partial collapse of a structure that followed an explosion in the Science Lab area that claimed three lives was not an act of sabotage rather an accident.
"No evidence of sabotage was discovered on the scene, and there may have been other causes for the explosion. After visiting the scene, he told reporters that the law enforcement agencies were looking into it.
“We will set up a committee to look into the explosion incident, and that group will solicit input from specialists and representatives of the fire department before submitting a report, he continued.
The DMP chief responded, "They have not detected any mark of splinter or harmful elements yet," when asked if law enforcement had discovered any evidence of these substances.
