Gas that had accumulated in the sewerage line was what caused the explosion that killed three people and injured dozens of others at a building in Science Lab area of the capital, according to Counter Terrorism and Translational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police,
Rahmat Ullah, additional deputy police commissioner, also chief of the bomb disposal unit of CTTC, came up with this revelation on Sunday afternoon after visiting the site.
Previously, the fire department believed that an air conditioner explosion within the structure was the reason behind the fire to start.
The fire broke out on Sunday around 10:52 am.
