Missing DU student’s body found at DMCH morgue

The body of Hafizur Rahman, a student of Dhaka University was found at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue Saturday. He was missing for the last seven days. Hafizur‍‍`s elder brother identified the body Saturday evening. He was a student of batch 15-16 of the Department of Informatics and Library Management at DU.

He was also the general secretary of Mime Action, a cultural organisation of the university. According to family sources, Hafizur came to Dhaka from his village home in Brahmanbaria the day after Eid last Saturday.

He informed his family about his arrival over phone. But from that night his phone was found switched off by his family.

When his family was unable to locate his whereabouts even after searching for him, they filed a GD at the Kasba Police Station in Brahmanbaria. Later, the news of his disappearance was reported to Shahbagh Police Station.

Hafizur‍‍`s elder brother Habibur Rahman Shahbagh went to Shahbagh Police Station where he was informed about an unidentified body found from the Shaheed Minar area last Saturday night.

Habibur Rahman identified him among some other unidentified bodies at the DMCH morgue. According to the autopsy report, there were signs of injuries on various parts of his body.
