A total of 1,452 individuals were arrested across Bangladesh in a single day as part of an ongoing special police operation aimed at curbing crime. The arrests were made in Dhaka and various other districts throughout the country.
Of those arrested, 1,053 were individuals with active arrest warrants in different cases, while the remaining 399 were detained for involvement in various other criminal activities.
Authorities also reported the seizure of two pistols, one magazine, a round of ammunition, and a Burmese knife during the operations.
The police confirmed that the nationwide special crackdown against crime is continuing. Legal proceedings against the arrested individuals are currently underway.
