Fire fighters have recovered six charred bodies from the plastic factory in Kamalbag area of Old Dhaka’s Chawkbazar that caught fire Monday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased couldn't be ascertained immediately.
Shahjahan Shikdar, deputy assistant director (media cell) of fire service and civil defense headquarters, confirmed the recovery.
He said: "The bodies were pulled out from the debris after the blaze was tamed.The rescue operation is still underway."
The fire started at 12noon but the origin of it could not be known immediately.
Ten firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 2:20pm.
