Police have installed nineteen check-posts in Sylhet to avoid any kind of chaos during the BNP’s divisional rally, scheduled to begin today afternoon.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police said, 19 check-posts have been installed at the entry points of Sylhet city to ensure safety and maintain the law and order situation.
Besides, four mobile court teams will be deployed to check security.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner said that police are on high alert and will monitor the situation closely.
BNP is all set for their seventh mass rally, at the Sylhet Govt Alia Madrasa field.
Leaders and activists have gathered at Alia Madrasa field where the rally is scheduled to begin at 2pm. According to the reports, the rally may begin before scheduled time like previous rallies.
BNP activists from all districts under the division were seen coming to the rally venue by train, trucks, auto rickshaws, three-wheelers, motorbikes, and micro-buses due to the public transport suspension.
