Bangladesh`s foreign exchange reserves would reach $200 billion, if the country can effectively utilize its marine sector, according to State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
Being the special guest of a program at the International Maritime Academy in Chotojoynagar, Gazipur, the state minister made the remark.
The marine industry contributes significantly to Bangladesh`s foreign exchange earnings, and it still has a ton of potential.
According to Chowdhury, service on local and international ships brings in a significant amount of foreign income for Bangladeshi marine cadets.
He hoped that by 2041, the maritime industry will be the key economic sector used to build a sophisticated and advanced Bangladesh.
