According to the load shedding schedule of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) and Dhaka Power Supply Company, some areas of the country's capital could be without energy for as long as eight hours.
Due to a power interruption, the government announced on July 18 that load shedding will be implemented countrywide. After the announcement, the scheduled area-by-area load shedding started on July 19.
The government had guaranteed reduction in load shedding period by October, but this did not happen. Instead, the duration of the load shedding has extended.
In some places power cut is being carried out three to five times a day, report says.
