A housewife was stabbed and burnt to death by her husband over his extramarital relationships in Narail Sadar on Friday.
The deceased is Achhiya Begum, 22, wife of Rony Sheikh, 26, of village Saratala of Narail Sadar upazila.
Rony got married to Achhiya around four years back with consent of family but later he maintained extramarital relationships with other girls, police and locals said.
On Friday noon, an argument broke out between them and Rony stabbed her with sharp weapons and left the house after setting her on fire.
Neighbours rushed to the house and found her dead and burnt. The child was out of the residence during the incident.
Officer-in-charge of Narail Sadar police station Mahmudul Rahman said, that the body was sent to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Some valuables of the house were burnt in the fire, he added.
